Forest Road #writephoto

Weathered stone markers
Guide the way to Grandma’s house
Silent paws follow
Today’s haiku is written for Sue Vincent’s #writephoto prompt! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to download the photo from Sue’s site (Failed – Path too long… a very fitting error message for my poem?) but you can click the link above to see the picture which inspired this poem. I hope you enjoy the Pixabay featured image instead.
After my last Goldilocks-themed haiku, the talented Sam Brady suggested a series of fairy tale themed haikus, and asked, What could you do with Red Riding Hood? Well, Sam, this is the answer! 🙂
Awesome!

I like the poem’s opening image. Great photo of Red Riding Hood.
I wrote a Red Riding Hood short story (1,000 words) called “The Rabbit That Wasn’t Right In The Head.” If you would like to read it, I’m open to any feedback: https://christopherjohnlindsay.wordpress.com/2017/03/11/red-riding-hood/

Thanks, I thought so too! 🙂 I owe so much to the excellent artists at Pixabay. They’ve definitely earned a coffee or two from me!

Well, I’m always thrilled to see the girl in the red hoodie, and I think you’ve done her justice with this. 🙂

Cheers! On reflection, I realise it wasn’t quite an accurate reflection of the picture, but the weathered stones really reminded me of OS markers.
